In a matter of seconds, a photo is taken of the person tendering the parcel, their credentials and their fingerprint, and the associated Air Waybill number is scanned or keyed into the record created, providing a major deterrent to the act of tendering the parcel at this facility. Facial recognition technology can be used to compare photos taken to photos of known terrorists, alerting authorities to a potential situation before the parcel is loaded onto a plane. Fingerprints scanned can also be matched to existing databases. The web based reporting functionality allows access to reports, photos, and activities in real time from anywhere in the world. Database records can be maintained locally, or for added security and reliability, on Regiscope's "Secure High Availability" servers.
